The Celtics are currently in fourth place in the East and trail the conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers by 8.5 games. Detroit has started the season really well, but they have fallen off since and are now rapidly losing chances against other teams from the East for a playoff race. Detroit G Jodie Meeks (foot) has been shut down until at least March 1st by head coach Stan Van Gundy. The Pistons and Celtics rank near the middle of the pack in offensive efficiency.
